Activities Idea @ KK
White Water River Rafting in Kiulu River
If you are one of those individuals seeking a tryst with nature, head towards Kampung Poturidong Kiulu where the camping site was established in July 2012. Various outdoor activities are offered here, from camping to jungle trekking to river rafting as you get back in touch with Mother Nature, though facilities like a barbecue pit and modern plumbing offer respite from the nitty-gritty details.
Bumper Orbing @ Likas Sports Complex
Looking for something to do during the weekend? At Orizorb Adventure, orbing gets close and personal with bumper orbing. By putting people in smaller orbs, and giving them use of their legs, the usually intimate experience of tumbling about in an inflatable plastic ball turns into war – in bumper orbing, you either bump or you get bumped. The wary need not worry, as the orbs are fitted with safety grip handles and harnesses, and all the bumping takes place within the confines of the Likas Sport Complex.
Kids' Spa @ Little Penyu, Metro Town
These activities are not limited to grown-ups only. There are also activities for kids. Particular parents of treasured tots looking for a novel way to spend time together can check out Little Penyu at Metro Town, Kota Kinabalu. The baby spa has baby-oriented swimming pods that are filled with non-chlorinated double-filtered water maintained at 34°C to 35°C, making for a hygienic and safe environment for babies to explore all the new movements and sensations that come with swimming. Little Penyu also offers infant massage classes that teach parents how to massage their babies in a safe and nurturing manner, following guidelines set by the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) that only parents should massage their babies.
Kids’ spa
- Foot soak
- Foot scrub (homemade scrub)
- Bubble Jacuzzi (15 - 20 minutes)
- Face mask (chocolate, honey, or tumeric)
- Manicure and pedicure (for girls only)
The team is made up of certified therapists who have worked as neonatal nurses and some of whom are mothers themselves, under the direction of Fara, its founder. A section with privacy curtains is available for breastfeeding mothers that need to nurse their babies, as well as facilities like a refrigerator and milk warmer. The thing that sets this spa apart from others is its care for the environment; infants are provided reusable cloth diapers and biodegradable liners, and they are a supporter of WWF’s marine turtles campaign, allowing its patrons to adopt a turtle for a fee in exchange for a photo of their baby on the adoption wall.
In the mean time, I would like to highlight my favorite activity to do in KK. Spa and Relaxation and Dining! Who doesn't like to be spoiled right? Well, imagine having all that at a fraction of a price. Some of the spa outlets are quite new though. Although some people prefer to stick to a particular masseuse, I prefer to explore new outlets and would recommend outlets who have really done a good job. Here are on-going spa and relaxation outlets giving a hefty discount in KK. Click on the link below!
